Line dancing

The line dancing group was formed in February 2005. It was a pilot scheme for six weeks, which just grew and grew.

When it first opened 23 people came through the door, we did not even have a name for the group. Then the work college came up with the Friday Night Project and the name stuck from there on.

Over the next year the group got so big it was time to move into a bigger hall as we had outgrown St John’s Hall in Woodley, so in February 2006 we moved into
St Crispin’s Sports Centre in Wokingham and we have been there ever since.

The great thing about St Crispin’s is that it has a bar, so it gives every member a chance to have a drink. We wanted to make their Friday night out as well as we could. Everyone in the group loves line dancing.

It is a life line for many as it gives them a chance to meet new friends. We have had our 10th romance in the group, and also one marriage.

We hope the group continues to grow and enjoy themselves.
